Staff Accountant

JCW is currently recruiting on behalf of a large and well-respected reinsurer looking to add a Staff Accountant to their team in greater Chicago. In this role, you will be reporting to the Controller and working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial processing and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile accounting records, including revenue, accounts receivable, payables, and journal entries in the general ledger.
• Reconcile monthly production and premium reports, cash receipts, and account current submissions across internal and external sources.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., TPAs, reinsurers, administrators) to resolve discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes, including financial reporting, loss run reconciliation, and account reconciliations.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of insurance industry accounting experience (agency or carrier).
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with general ledger/accounting systems (ConceptOne a plus).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment.
