JCW Search has partnered with a local bank as they’re seeking a motivated Portfolio Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a commercial credit professional to take ownership of a well-established portfolio and contribute to a dynamic, relationship-driven banking environment.
In this role, you’ll focus primarily on managing and monitoring an existing portfolio of commercial real estate loans, while also supporting new originations through credit underwriting. You’ll work closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and senior leadership to ensure portfolio quality, credit compliance, and risk mitigation.

In this role, you’ll focus primarily on managing and monitoring an existing portfolio of commercial real estate loans, while also supporting new originations through credit underwriting. You’ll work closely with relationship managers, credit officers, and senior leadership to ensure portfolio quality, credit compliance, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, ensuring timely renewals, covenant compliance, and ongoing risk monitoring.
- Conduct periodic credit reviews, financial statement analysis, and borrower evaluations.
- Assist in underwriting new commercial real estate transactions (~25% of the role).
- Collaborate with relationship managers to support client needs and identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare and present credit memos and portfolio updates to senior credit committees.
- 4+ years of experience in commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management within a bank or financial institution.
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate lending, loan structures, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency with financial statement analysis and credit risk tools.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
