I. Summary of the Position: NYC private real estate management company seeking an accountant/analyst with real estate family office experience. The accountant will be expected to assist in all aspects of accounting, reporting, and managing of the family office matters. In addition, this person will be responsible for monitoring the business portfolio bank accounts. A number of office management related tasks are also included in this role. II. Family Office Administrator / Business Treasury Analyst Act as the primary point of contact for the third-party family office service, managing the accounts payable process and ensuring proper approvals were obtained for all transactions. Review transaction details, cash activity reports, and bank reconciliations for all family office accounts. Manage various family office vendors. Manage, review, and analyze credit card accounts. Review all business portfolio bank balances daily, manage liquidity and identifying current and potential cash shortfalls and funding sources as needed. Monitor all banking activity, ensuring all wire and ACH transfers are correct and authorized according to company compliance requirements. Review daily bank activity ensuring that all electronic deposits and withdrawals are communicated to the respective accounts receivable and accounts payable teams. Manage checking and investment account balances, maximize earnings on accounts. Enter wire transfers via online bank portals and prepare wire authorizations, obtaining proper approvals for all transfers. Investigate all banking issues, such as missing or undeposited checks and any other irregularities. Prepare all distribution, contribution, and reserve calculations. Provide documentation to support the journalization of banking transactions when needed. Assist with various office management tasks. III. Hiring Specifications: 8+ years relevant accounting experience in family office administration. An undergraduate degree in either Accounting or Finance. Familiarity with a wide range of financial transactions including banking and accounts payable. Experience in using various online banking platforms. Computer skills: MS Word and Excel, V-lookup and Pivot table experience a plus Knowledge and understanding of accounting/finance. Excellent data entry skills. The highest level of and focus on integrity and professionalism, and a strong work ethic; detailoriented who focuses on implementation and follow-through. A neat, organized, fast-checking individual that has attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to communicate with manager. Quick books / Yardi accounting system experience is a plus.
