AVP, Assistant Controller

JCW is recruiting on behalf of a US based insurance firm looking to bring an AVP to their Accounting function. The team is passionate about driving results and ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the organization as a Director of Accounting to oversee the firm's close processes across the organization. This is a hybrid work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Close Process Leadership:

• Manage and streamline the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of close activities.

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with other departments to gather necessary financial data and resolve discrepancies.
• Serve as a key point of contact for audit inquiries related to the close processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification required
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on close processes in a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across the organization.
