Head of Compliance – Anti-Money Laundering (AML) (f/m/d), 80–100%

Overview:
In this leadership role within the Compliance department, you will take ownership of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) function and shape the future of compliance practices across key regulatory topics, including sanctions, tax compliance (FATCA/AIA/QI), and cross-border matters. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced, strategic, and hands-on leader to develop and elevate a well-established compliance framework within a trusted Swiss banking institution.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead the AML Compliance Unit, ensuring compliance with all applicable AML, tax, sanctions, and cross-border regulations.
  • Manage and develop a team of 10 professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous development.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
  • Oversee reporting obligations related to VSB, GwG, FATCA, AIA, QI, and ensure the quality and timeliness of all disclosures.
  • Provide guidance to executive management and staff on all compliance topics, including conducting internal training programs.
  • Monitor regulatory developments, evaluate their impact, and implement effective compliance strategies and processes.
  • Drive the digitization of compliance processes and contribute to the evolution of the bank’s compliance culture and operating model.

Your Profile
  • 8–10+ years of experience in compliance, AML, and sanctions within the Swiss financial industry.
  • Proven leadership experience with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Degree in law, economics, or a comparable qualification (University/FH/HF); additional certifications in compliance are a strong advantage.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to drive change, initiate new processes, and lead transformation efforts.
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, and planning skills paired with a pragmatic, business-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication skills in German (written and spoken); French and English are considered an asset.
  • High integrity, empathy, and a strong sense of accountability.
