Energy Efficiency Expert

Are you an expert in energy efficiency with a strong background in municipal and building-level projects? We have an exciting opportunity for an Energy Efficiency Expert to support the Climate Neutral Cities Mission. This role involves providing strategic advice on energy efficiency projects promoted by municipal governments across the EU. Based in Luxembourg, Brussels, Warsaw, or Vienna, this position offers the chance to shape decarbonization strategies, sustainable investment plans, and technical advisory initiatives. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver or review technical advisory for energy efficiency projects in municipalities.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis of energy efficiency initiatives, identifying key insights and implications.
• Support cities in developing investment plans for building renovations, district heating, and streetlighting projects.
• Identify funding sources, address funding gaps, and provide strategic recommendations on financial opportunities.
• Assess energy efficiency projects in relation to municipal objectives, EU regulations, and decarbonization targets.
• Provide technical evaluations, including feasibility studies, energy audits, and integration of renewable energy sources.
• Offer strategic recommendations to enhance project implementation and alignment with climate goals.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
• Experience in energy efficiency, with at least 5 years focused on municipal-level projects.
• Expertise in energy audits, energy efficiency measures, feasibility studies, and renewable energy integration.
• Solid knowledge of EU sector regulations (EPBD, EED) and energy efficiency standards (ISO 50001, EN 16247).
• Prior experience with public-private partnerships (PPP), Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs), and ESCO models.
